We cannot wait for you to escape with us at one of our retreats. In order to ensure that you get the most from the experience, so that you know what to expect and so that you are clear on what will and won’t be included in the retreat we have provided detailed information within these terms and conditions.
The terms cover important information relating to your booking and cancellation rights, along with information about guest safety and so should be considered carefully.
Any reference to “Us”, “Our” or “We” within these terms refer to One Acorn International the operating name for the retreat services provided by Karen Kissane.
SARL One Acorn International is a company registered in France under company registration number 899 667 406 00016, having its registered office at Chateau du Treuil, 49 Avenue du Treuil, Burie, 17770, France.
Any reference to “You” and “Your” is a reference to you, a guest at the retreat.
By making a booking you confirm that you have read these terms and conditions and accept them in their entirety.
Your booking is confirmed and a contract between you and us is formed when your first payment for the retreat is made.There may be payment installment options available. Should you choose to pay by installment a contractual relationship is entered into once the first payment is taken and you will be required to make all further payments.
If for any reason your card processor does not send payment then your place will not have been reserved, you should check your bank statement and emails for confirmation that the booking has been made.We recommend that you purchase travel insurance in advance of making your booking.
Please note that as the retreats do not include flights, they cannot be ATOL protected.

The Biohack Your Business retreat is hosted at a hired villa in Pyla sur Mer, France.
Our retreats are crafted specifically for passionate entrepreneurs, and will include bespoke workshops which are unique in design for each retreat residency.
No two retreats are exactly the same; however, every retreat will include a number of workshops and business sessions (“Our Services”) which are included within the retreat price.
Our retreats include:
3 nights of accommodation in a private villa (if selected at time of registration).
Business development workshops, the content of these will be bespoke to each retreat;
Networking opportunities; the retreat guests will all be passionate entrepreneurs.
Subject to availability, we may be joined by other professionals to provide additional workshops or services. Any additional services are subject to availability and may not be provided at each retreat.
Transfers between the airport and retreat property are not included within the price.
At all times during the retreat, unless prevented by ill health, accident or other circumstances beyond our control, we shall provide our services reliably, with reasonable care and skill and in accordance with good industry practice. We will use all reasonable endeavors to promote the best experience and learning opportunities for you.It is our intention that a full and varied timetable of workshops will be offered at each retreat. At no time can we guarantee that all advertised workshops will be delivered or the identity of the coach or tutor who will deliver those workshops.
We will make every effort to ensure that each workshop goes ahead as planned. From time to time, due to circumstances outside of our control a workshop may not go ahead, or it may go ahead with an alternative coach or expert. You will not be entitled to a refund if any of the intended workshops do not go ahead or go ahead with other experts.
You should attend and participate fully with the retreat programme in order to obtain the best results. Any information shared by you in the business workshops should be correct, up-to-date and complete so that the most appropriate guidance and support can be provided. You are requested to maintain confidentiality in respect of the information shared by other retreat guests. We take no responsibility for any confidentiality or intellectual property breaches by other guests.
Any training materials and information provided during the retreat is for general business information and general health and wellbeing purposes only and does not constitute legal, financial or medical advice. We retain all intellectual property rights, whether registered or unregistered in all teaching frameworks, materials and methodologies.
Whilst it is hoped that all guests will make great business connections, no guests are permitted to use their participation within the retreat to canvas, promote or advertise their products or services. As part of your participation in the retreat you may be required to review and make decisions concerning your personal and home life, business and career, finances, lifestyle, education, development, health, and wellness. Any such reviews, subsequent decisions, implementation and action will be your sole responsibility.
None of the services delivered as part of the retreat are therapy services. No physical or health advice will be given. You are responsible for ensuring that you are fit to participate in any physical activities delivered as part of the retreat.
We have made every effort to accurately represent the retreat. Any testimonials and/or examples of results experienced are not intended to represent or guarantee that anyone will achieve the same or similar results. We make no guarantee, representation, or warranty with respect to the services provided. We cannot guarantee outcomes or results of any kind.
The Retreat offers you the opportunity to engage in various health activities, including but not limited to nootropics, adaptogens, cold water therapy, yoga, and breathwork. These activities are intended to promote general wellness and are provided for informational purposes only.
Participants understand and acknowledge that:
The information provided during the Retreat regarding biohacking is not intended as medical advice and should not be considered as a substitute for professional medical or pharmaceutical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
Participation in these activities is voluntary and participants assume full responsibility for any risks, known or unknown, associated with their participation.
You must consult with your physician or pharmacist before engaging in any new health regimen, including the activities offered at the Retreat.The Retreat, its organisers, instructors, staff, and affiliates are not liable for any injury, illness, or adverse effects that may occur as a result of participation in the health activities offered at the Retreat.
The advertised rate for the retreat is £1200 for a day pass (no accommodation) or supplemental charges for accommodation.
The price of the retreat does not include flights, transfers or travel insurance.
In order to secure your place on the retreat payment in full is required at the time of booking.
In accordance with Distance Selling Regulations, you have the right to cancel and obtain a refund should you change your mind within 14 days of booking your place on the retreat. This is subject to your booking not being a “Late Booking” the terms of which are outlined further below.
Refund requests to be made within the first 14 days should be made in writing via email and a refund will be provided within 14 working days.
In the event services of any kind have already been delivered within the first 14 days following purchase, you are still entitled to request a refund but the value of any services shall be deducted from the amount paid by you, along with any reasonable costs which have been borne by us such as, but not limited to, administrative costs.
There is no obligation on us to refund any amounts paid where cancellation requests are made following the 14 days after your booking is made.
Should you consider that you have grounds to obtain a refund outside of the 14 day cancellation period you should make your request in writing via email to set out your refund request.
If you book less than 8 weeks before the departure date, your booking will be treated as a Late Booking and as such in completing your booking you are waiving your right to a refund if you change your mind. This is because with Late Bookings we will take immediate and expedited steps to ensure that arrangements are made in time for your stay.
We reserve all rights to postpone the retreat for any reason. Where possible at least 14 days’ notice of the postponement will be provided. However, in some instances it may not be possible to provide such notice. In circumstances where the retreat is postponed by us your place on the retreat will be transferred to the next available date or any other retreat date thereafter to suit your availability.
We reserve all rights to cancel the retreat for any reason. Where possible at least 14 days’ notice of the cancellation will be provided. However, in some instances it may not be possible to provide such notice. In circumstances where a retreat is canceled a refund for the cost of the retreat will be provided.
In no circumstances shall we provide refunds for flights or transfers.
We understand that from time-to-time circumstances may change and you may no longer be able to attend the retreat. In those circumstances, and only where the start of the retreat is at least 12 weeks away, you can substitute your place and provide it to another individual who is not already booked on a retreat with Us. We reserve the right to apply an administration fee of £150 plus VAT to support you with the cancellation of your booking and process any substitutions. Unfortunately, due to the bespoke nature of the retreat we cannot offer any substitutions with less than 8 weeks to go before the start of the retreat.
At all times your health and safety is of paramount importance to us. In order to ensure the best experience for all retreat guests You must disclose all prior health conditions prior to attending.
There is no minimum fitness level for participation in any of the business workshops or activities. You should always follow the advice of your own general practitioner before undertaking any physical activity and stop immediately if you feel unwell.
At all times you must comply with the rules and safety instructions provided to you by us and any third party teachers and instructors in order to protect your health and safety.
You may wish to take advantage of nearby activities. We are not responsible for you or your safety for any such activities as they do not form part of our retreat.
From time to time during the retreat we may capture videos and/or photographs. On arrival at the retreat you may be asked to sign a release to provide your consent for us to capture and use the imagery royalty-free in our online marketing campaigns including social media. Your privacy is important to us and you are entitled to withhold your consent.
We retain all copyright and license rights in the imagery created and obtained by us and any professional photographers on the retreats.
You will be a guest in a hired villa. It will be the responsibility of you and all guests to ensure that the buildings and grounds remain in a good condition. Should you break or damage any fixtures or fittings please alert us without delay. We reserve the right to charge for any damages or breakages.
You must ensure that you hold valid travel insurance for the destination of the retreat to cover you, your baggage, medical expenses, flight and/or transfer cancellations or travel disruption caused by Covid-19 or any other issue. Any claims for non-attendance at the retreat must be directed to your insurance.
Failure to hold proper or valid insurance is a decision taken at Your own risk and We can offer no compensation in such circumstances.
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions will:
limit or exclude any liability for death or personal injury resulting from negligence;
limit or exclude any liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation;
limit any liabilities in any way that is not permitted under applicable law; or
exclude any liabilities that may not be excluded under applicable law.
The limitations and exclusions of liability set out in this clause and elsewhere in these terms and conditions govern all liabilities arising in connection with provision of the retreat, including liabilities arising in contract, in tort (including negligence) and for breach of statutory duty, except to the extent expressly provided otherwise in these terms.
We shall not be liable to you in respect of any loss or damage which may arise as a result of your attendance on the retreat or these terms and conditions.
We shall own and retain all rights in any teaching materials created, provided and amended from time to time for Our Retreats. This includes any drafts and variation documents.
As a retreat attendee you will be provided with written materials. We wish to protect our creative work and training booklets. You have the right to use the materials as learning tools but you are not permitted to duplicate or provide copies to third parties.
All intellectual property rights remain with Us unless expressly stated otherwise in writing.
Your privacy and protection of your personal data is important to us. Your personal data is protected as set out in our privacy policy which can be found at https://www.karenkissanecoaching.com/policy/
During the course of the retreat you may have access to confidential information, in particular the personal and business affairs of others on the retreat. In accepting these terms you agree that you will not use or disclose to any person, organisation or company, and shall use your best endeavors to prevent the publication of, any confidential information relating to any other retreat participant.
You accept that any unauthorised disclosure of personal or confidential information belonging to another may amount to immediate dismissal from the retreat.
We intend to rely on the written terms set out in these terms and conditions for the services that we provide to you in delivery of the retreat. These written terms shall constitute the entire agreement between Us.
We may update these terms and conditions from time to time for legal or regulatory reasons or to allow the proper operation of your service. Any changes will be communicated to you with as much notice as possible.
If any provision or part-provision of these terms and conditions is or becomes invalid, illegal or unenforceable, it shall be deemed modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it valid, legal and enforceable. If such modification is not possible, the relevant provision or part-provision shall be deemed deleted. Any such modification or deletion shall not affect the validity and enforceability of the rest of these terms and conditions.
No breach of any provision of these terms and conditions shall be waived except with the express written consent of the party not in breach.
Should you be unhappy with the service provided by us or wish to make a complaint of any kind you must set out the detail of any complaint in writing via email. A review will be conducted of the issues and a response provided by email, within 5 working days.
This Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with English law. The courts of England & Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction to adjudicate any dispute arising under or in connection with this Agreement.
The parties have indicated their acceptance of this Agreement by executing it below.
